Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the long-term vision for statistical modeling and machine learning within the company.

• Perform exploratory data analysis prior to model development.

• Conduct feasibility studies and proofs of concept for proposed machine learning solutions.

• Monitor and troubleshoot model performance issues, including drift and degradation.

• Investigate and assess additional use cases for existing models.

• Assist with ad hoc machine learning-related analytics requests from stakeholders and senior data scientists.

• Evaluate and enhance product recommendation and user classification systems.

• Support the optimization of adaptive user experiences, cross-selling initiatives, and retargeting strategies.

• Design, prototype, and implement models across various domains.

• Oversee the entire project lifecycle, encompassing exploration, training-data preparation, model development, and production deployment.

• Collaborate with product and marketing managers, analysts, and engineers to transform user insights into automated services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Science is required.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in developing, testing, and deploying optimized predictive models.

• Proficient in advanced statistical modeling (Python, R, etc.).

• Strong skills in SQL querying, data mining, and data cleansing.

• In-depth understanding of supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms, including neural networks and decision trees.

• Advanced knowledge of experimental design.

• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure tools (AWS EC2, S3, Redshift, Snowflake, containers).

• Expertise in visualization, reporting, and presentation.

• Experience with version control systems (GitHub).

• Proven experience in adopting and effectively utilizing AI tools in daily data science workflows.

• Familiarity with ML deployment infrastructure (ETL, tools, new products in this domain).

• Excellent strategic project planning abilities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Capable of developing project plans and delivering outcomes aligned with quarterly and annual objectives.

• Ability to work with loosely defined requirements while exercising creativity and analytical skills.

• Proficient in articulating vision, complex ideas, analytical processes, and results in clear business terms.

• Skilled in anticipating business needs and working independently.

• Preferred experience with Seldon-core or other MLOps tools.

• Experience in an e-commerce or fintech company is advantageous.
