Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Convert business decisions into quantifiable questions, success metrics, baselines, and targets for improvement.

• Choose and develop supervised, unsupervised, and deep learning techniques utilizing CNNs, Transformers, and PyTorch.

• Modify pretrained and open-weight models using LoRA, QLoRA, or PEFT as necessary.

• Create baselines, holdouts, and conduct both offline and online evaluations while reporting uncertainty.

• Execute error analysis across data, labels, methods, and framing issues.

• Package, document, and transfer models along with operational success metrics.

• Engage in client repositories and environments, participating in standups and occasional client calls.

• Collaborate on client projects that adhere to SOC 2 and possibly HIPAA regulations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in constructing and validating models for real-world decisions.

• Proficient in Python as the primary programming language.

• Familiarity with testing, code reviews, Git, containers, and version control for data and experiments.

• Knowledge of both supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques.

• Experience with CNNs and Transformers.

• Practical knowledge of PyTorch or a similar framework, including training, custom modules, and optimization.

• Advanced proficiency in pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn.

• Understanding of statistics and experimental design, including baselines, holdouts, significance, and confidence assessment.

• Experience in fine-tuning or adapting pretrained models.

• Conduct error analysis to differentiate between data, label, method, and framing challenges.

• Cloud experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure, and familiarity with AI services like Amazon SageMaker, Google Vertex AI, or Azure Machine Learning.

• Active usage of AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot.

• Proficient in written and spoken English, at a C1 level or higher.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
