Data Science Manager – Space Intelligence

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and coach Data Scientists while assessing their performance.

• Attract, retain, and cultivate top talent to establish a high-performing team.

• Effectively manage resources to align with strategic initiatives and business objectives.

• Encourage collaboration among team members.

• Assist the team in designing and developing algorithms and models to generate business insights.

• Oversee programs for the team to ensure consistency in execution.

• Act as the escalation point for any issues or challenges related to specific projects.

• Utilize extensive business knowledge and relationships to identify new business opportunities.

• Ensure alignment with the IT support model, collaboration, tools, and governance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a similar technical discipline.

• Over 7 years of industry experience in data science, applied machine learning, or software engineering.

• At least 2 years in a leadership role, either technical or people-oriented.

• Strong background in applied data science with experience in building and maintaining production-grade software.

• Hands-on experience in developing AI-driven tools and platforms.

• Proficient in Python and a solid understanding of engineering best practices, including APIs, microservices, version control, CI/CD, testing, and deployment.

• Experience in designing and managing large-scale data pipelines and distributed systems with AI/ML components, preferably on cloud platforms like GCP and VertexAI.

• Familiarity with microservices architectures and deploying models and APIs in containerized, cloud-neutral environments.

• Knowledge of or contributions to AI agents or agentic applications.

• Proven capability to translate complex business processes and strategies into scalable, maintainable architectures.

• Domain expertise in retail, merchandising, e-commerce, or supply chain, or familiarity with space intelligence concepts.
