Data Science Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Oversee the technical strategy, support, evolution, and reliability of Nestlé Brazil’s Data Science, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence initiatives.

• Guarantee the availability, performance, scalability, security, and operational continuity of models, Machine Learning pipelines, and analytical applications in a production environment.

• Act as a technical authority for Data Science, Machine Learning Engineering, and MLOps teams, advocating for operational excellence and best practices.

• Establish and enhance monitoring and observability capabilities for data, models, pipelines, and inference services, ensuring proactive identification of risks and performance issues.

• Maintain the continuous quality, relevance, and performance of models through monitoring, validation, retraining, and lifecycle governance processes.

• Spearhead the technological advancement and optimization of AI environments, promoting operational efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.

• Build and lead Data Science, Machine Learning Engineering, and MLOps teams, encouraging technical development, collaboration, and high performance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.

• Proven experience in technical leadership or team management within the realms of Data Science, Machine Learning Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or similar fields.

• Demonstrated experience in supporting, operating, and enhancing Machine Learning models, AI products, and analytical applications in corporate settings.

• Familiarity with Machine Learning Engineering, MLOps, and model lifecycle governance in a production context.

• Expertise in monitoring, observability, operational reliability, and incident management for AI and Machine Learning solutions.

• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and contemporary Data Science and Machine Learning ecosystems.

• Experience with Analytics and AI platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or comparable technologies.

• Background in leading multidisciplinary teams and nurturing talent.

• Excellent communication and influencing abilities with technical, executive, and business stakeholders.

• Experience collaborating with Data Engineering, Architecture, Governance, Security, and Data Product teams.

• Advanced or fluent English proficiency.
