Data Quality & Governance Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Egypt.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the comprehensive Data Quality program, encompassing SLAs, monitoring, testing, issue resolution, and ongoing enhancement.

• Lead the collection of requirements alongside business and data teams to establish and document both technical and business data quality standards.

• Develop and sustain dbt-based Data Quality tests throughout the medallion architecture (Bronze / Silver / Gold tiers).

• Create DQ dashboards and conduct root-cause analyses to enhance data trustworthiness.

• Establish and manage the enterprise data catalog and business glossary, ensuring that metadata, ownership, lineage, and business definitions are accurate, documented, and easily accessible.

• Collaborate with domain teams to gather institutional knowledge and convert business context into shared metadata, glossary definitions, classifications, and governed semantic context.

• Facilitate trusted and reusable data foundations for analytics and AI applications by enhancing the discoverability, context, and governance of data assets.

• Assist in governance and compliance practices concerning sensitive and regulated data.

• Serve as the intermediary between Data and Business teams regarding definitions, ownership, trust, and governance decisions.

• Lead workshops with domain owners to establish business rules and data contracts.

• Promote data discoverability and position yourself as the reliable point of contact for data interpretation and reliability.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in Data Quality and Governance.

• Practical experience in executing Data Quality and Data Governance initiatives in a production environment.

• Proficient in DBT and SQL.

• Familiarity with data cataloging tools such as OpenMetadata, DataHub, Collibra, or comparable options.

• Experience in creating DQ dashboards and engaging with business stakeholders.

• Strong sense of ownership and capability to work autonomously.
