Data Platform DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hungary.

📋 Description

• Design and oversee CI/CD pipelines for the deployment of data pipelines

• Create and manage Infrastructure-as-Code utilizing Terraform and Helm for lakehouse components

• Oversee Kubernetes clusters for Airflow, Spark operators, and DataHub workloads

• Implement logging, metrics, and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry

• Automate the provisioning process across development, staging, and production environments

• Collaborate with data engineering and security teams on policy-as-code and configuration standards

• Manage optimization of cloud costs through the use of spot instances, auto-scaling, and resource rightsizing

• Develop runbooks, SOP documentation, and on-call playbooks

• Ensure SLA compliance through capacity planning and incident response

• Assess and introduce DevOps tools to enhance platform engineering efficiency

• Engage in a talent-pipeline recruitment process for expected future hiring needs

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or SRE roles

• Strong expertise in Terraform, Helm, and Kubernetes (EKS, AKS, or GKE)

• Familiarity with CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or ArgoCD

• Practical experience in deploying and managing data platforms on AWS, Azure, or GCP

• Proficient in Bash, Python, or Go for automation tasks

• Experience with Docker, container orchestration, and microservices deployment strategies

• Knowledge of Honeycomb, Grafana, ELK stack, and Datadog

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

• Must be currently residing in Hungary

• Must have the legal right to live and work in Hungary

• Preferred: Experience with Databricks Terraform provider or Snowflake deployment automation

• Preferred: Familiarity with GitOps workflows using ArgoCD or Flux

• Preferred certifications: CKA, AWS DevOps Professional, or HashiCorp Terraform
