Data & ML Engineer – Python, PyTorch, MLflow

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Become a part of a cross-functional ML engineering team that develops the pipelines, feature stores, and serving infrastructure to transition models from experimentation to production.

• Engage in daily collaboration with data scientists, product engineers, and platform engineers within an environment where machine learning is a fundamental capability rather than a secondary focus.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–8 years of combined experience in data engineering and the ML model lifecycle (Mid: 3–5 yrs / Senior: 5–8 yrs)

• Proficient in advanced, production-grade Python for model training, serving, and automation

• Practical experience with at least one ML framework: scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow

• Familiarity with MLOps tools: MLflow, Kubeflow, or Amazon SageMaker for experiment tracking and model deployment

• Strong understanding of the complete ML lifecycle: data ingestion, feature engineering, training, evaluation, and production

• Experience in designing and managing feature stores for both batch and real-time inference

• Knowledge of model deployment and REST or gRPC serving methodologies in production settings

• Proficient with cloud ML services: Amazon SageMaker, GCP Vertex AI, or Azure ML

• Experience with data pipeline tools: Apache Airflow, Apache Spark, or dbt

• Familiarity with CI/CD practices for ML, including model registry management, A/B testing frameworks, and production monitoring

• Strong SQL and data wrangling capabilities at scale

• English proficiency: B2 (Upper Intermediate) — required

• Must be based in Portugal — strongly preferred for Portuguese nationals or residents.
