Data Migration Test Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement **test strategies, plans, and cases** for data migration from Pentaho to Informatica CDI.

• Verify **end-to-end data flows**, encompassing source-to-target mappings, transformations, aggregations, and business rules.

• Ensure that migrated Informatica CDI jobs achieve **functional equivalence or enhancements** compared to existing Pentaho workflows.

• Create and run **complex SQL queries** to check row counts, aggregations, joins, filters, and transformations.

• Conduct **data reconciliation** between legacy Pentaho outputs and Informatica CDI target tables.

• Identify, analyze, and document **data discrepancies and their root causes**.

• Test Informatica CDI mappings, task flows, schedules, and interdependencies.

• Validate exception handling, error logging, and the restartability of pipelines.

• Ensure performance and scalability standards meet or exceed those of legacy systems.

• Record, track, and retest defects using defect tracking tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.

• Collaborate with ETL developers, data engineers, DBAs, and business stakeholders.

• Offer clear, actionable insights to development teams.

• Create and maintain **test artifacts**, which include test cases, results, data validation reports, and sign-off documents.

• Provide regular status updates and testing metrics to project leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in testing **ETL / ELT and data warehouse solutions**.

• Practical testing experience with **Pentaho Data Integration (PDI)** and/or **Informatica Cloud Data Integration (CDI)**.

• Proficient in **SQL scripting skills** (joins, subqueries, window functions, aggregates).

• Experience in validating data across various relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, etc.).

• Knowledge of data integration concepts including source-to-target mapping, transformations, lookups, and slowly changing dimensions.
