Data Manager, Data Governance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Oversee the classification of sensitive data across source-system tables and dimension values.

• Develop dynamic data masking and row-access policies for sensitive financial information, tailored by role and business unit.

• Establish raw versus curated access tiering and implement least-privilege access models.

• Create column-level lineage tracking from source through landing, staging, conformed, and curated layers, including semantic models and reporting.

• Assist in master data management initiatives to standardize definitions for key business metrics.

• Produce platform-agnostic governance artifacts, such as policy objects/tags and versioned documentation for classification and lineage.

• Collaborate with Security, Privacy, and Compliance teams to obtain design approvals before implementation.

• Address network and identity boundary issues related to sensitive data.

• Facilitate the downstream integration of classification and lineage artifacts into enterprise catalog and governance tools without directly building or operating those tools.

• Work alongside the Principal Data Architect and client stakeholders on a comprehensive finance data platform modernization project.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in data security and privacy governance roles within enterprise data platforms, including practical policy implementation.

• Expertise in data classification, dynamic masking, and row-access/row-level security in a modern cloud data warehousing environment; experience with Snowflake is preferred.

• Experience in designing or contributing to column-level lineage across multi-layer data pipelines.

• Familiarity with data privacy and access governance practices in regulated industries, such as financial services or healthcare.

• Comfortable leading classification and masking design during the design-validation phase.

• Proficient in English (C1 level).

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric/OneLake governance boundaries in conjunction with Snowflake is a plus.

• Background in mortgage, lending, or financial services data governance is advantageous.

• Understanding of how to limit AI-assisted development tools to metadata and aggregate access only, avoiding raw sensitive values (desirable).
