Data Integration & API Engineer – BI, Data Automation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Maintain and enhance current data connections to customer systems (e.g., DATEV, SAP, LucaNet, Microsoft 365, Personio)

• Optimize and stabilize existing ETL pipelines for both file and API-based data imports

• Assume responsibility for new interfaces and systematically integrate them into the existing integration framework

• Collaborate with external API documentation to evaluate efficient integration of new systems

• Transition current integrations from bespoke solutions to scalable, parameterized standards

• Ensure that recurring structures (e.g., dimensions, mapping logic) are appropriately abstracted and implemented for reuse

• Oversee authentication processes (e.g., OAuth) to guarantee reliable and secure data transfer

• Automate current data flows and incorporate them into setup and deployment processes

• Partner with customers and internal teams as necessary to thoroughly comprehend and implement data structures.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in BI, data, or integration environments

• Strong understanding of data structures along with proficient SQL skills

• Initial exposure to APIs or a keen interest in enhancing your knowledge of API integrations

• Ability to read JSON and grasp fundamental REST concepts

• Ideally, experience with Power BI or Power Automate

• Comprehensive understanding of data flows from source to target structure

• Structured and methodical working approach

• Strong aptitude for developing scalable and reusable solutions

• Analytical mindset, pattern recognition abilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement of existing solutions

• Clear communication skills with the ability to explain technical subjects in an understandable manner

• Excellent German language proficiency, both spoken and written.
