Data Governance Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine, +4 more countries.

📋 Description

• Develop and execute enterprise data governance frameworks and operational models.

• Establish and uphold data quality standards, controls, and governance methodologies.

• Oversee the management of business glossaries, data dictionaries, metadata, and data lineage.

• Assist in initiatives related to master data and reference data management.

• Create policies for data classification, retention, and privacy.

• Work collaboratively with business units, IT, security, and data owners to enhance governance practices.

• Facilitate governance for analytical models and AI applications.

• Advocate for data quality, compliance, and ongoing improvements in governance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in implementing enterprise Data Governance frameworks.

• In-depth knowledge of data ownership, stewardship, and governance operating models.

• Familiarity with data quality management and remediation strategies.

• Understanding of metadata management, data catalogs, business glossaries, and data lineage.

• Experience in managing master data and reference data.

• Knowledge of principles regarding data classification, privacy, and data retention.

• Experience collaborating with both business and technical stakeholders.

• Capability to develop governance policies and convert them into actionable implementation.

• Nice to Have:

• Experience with Microsoft Purview or comparable data governance platforms.

• Familiarity with GDPR or other data protection regulations.

• Professional certifications such as DAMA/CDMP or equivalent.

• Experience in working with HR, Payroll, Finance, or other sensitive enterprise data.
