This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Define, develop, and implement a comprehensive Global Data Governance Framework.
• Establish policies, standards, templates, and best practices.
• Integrate the Data Governance Framework into the organization by partnering with global business functions.
• Create and deliver training programs.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on data governance for strategic projects and transformation initiatives.
• Identify and coordinate data owners and stewards throughout the organization.
• Lead global Communities of Practice to disseminate knowledge and best practices.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure that the company’s data systems and infrastructure align with governance principles.
• Lead or assist in audits and assessments related to data governance and regulatory compliance.
• Support the design and implementation of AI, cloud-based data lakes, data warehouses, and data visualization platforms.
• Manage and resolve data governance issues, ensuring timely escalation and remediation.
• Evaluate, select, and assist in the implementation of data governance tools and platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Over 5 years of experience in data governance, data management, or information security within a regulated industry.
• Strong understanding of global data protection and aerospace/defense regulations.
• Experience with data governance tools, enterprise data architecture, and cloud-based data platforms.
• Proven ability to establish data governance capabilities from the ground up in a complex organization.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strategic thinking, analytical skills, and keen attention to detail.
• Project management skills with the ability to drive cross-functional initiatives.
• Demonstrated commitment to compliance and ethical data management.
• Professional certifications (e.g., DAMA CDMP, CIPP/E, CISSP, TOGAF) are preferred.
• Experience specifically within aerospace and defense environments is an advantage.
• Experience in implementing or managing data governance operating models is a plus.
• Knowledge of metadata management, master data management (MDM), and data quality frameworks is beneficial.
