Data Governance Lead

📋 Description

• Lead enterprise Data Governance initiatives for healthcare organizations.

• Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, business stakeholders, and technical teams.

• Facilitate governance councils, steering committees, executive workshops, and strategic planning sessions.

• Assist clients in formulating governance strategies that are aligned with organizational goals and measurable business outcomes.

• Build and nurture long-term client relationships by identifying areas to enhance governance capabilities beyond initial project scope.

• Oversee the integration of Data Governance throughout the entire data lifecycle—from platform configuration and data acquisition to data product development, analytics execution, AI initiatives, and continuous operational management.

• Connect development teams, architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure governance is integrated into enterprise processes rather than functioning as a separate entity.

• Advocate for governance as a catalyst for innovation by incorporating governance practices into technology implementation, analytics delivery, and organizational decision-making.

• Design and implement enterprise Data Governance operating models, encompassing governance structures, decision rights, stewardship organizations, and accountability frameworks.

• Conduct enterprise Data Governance maturity assessments and create executive roadmaps that align with organizational strategy.

• Formulate governance policies, standards, processes, and decision-making frameworks.

• Specify data ownership, stewardship, and accountability models across both business and technical teams.

• Embed governance best practices into organizational processes to enhance consistency, trust, efficiency, and decision-making.

• Collaborate with business, healthcare operations, analytics, and technology leaders to prioritize governance initiatives that support enterprise transformation.

• Create governance strategies that facilitate trusted analytics, AI, regulatory compliance, and enterprise data management initiatives.

• Establish metrics for governance success and maturity assessment.

• Develop business cases that highlight the value of governance investments.

• Lead enterprise Data Governance maturity assessments and executive stakeholder interviews.

• Assess governance capabilities across people, processes, technology, organizational adoption, and business alignment.

• Prepare executive summaries, strategic recommendations, and multi-year governance roadmaps.

• Cultivate trusted relationships with executive leaders and act as a strategic advisor for enterprise data initiatives.

• Convert business strategy into scalable governance programs that promote organizational adoption.

• Unite business, healthcare operations, analytics, and technology teams to establish governed processes throughout the enterprise data pipeline.

• Deliver quantifiable improvements in trust, consistency, operational efficiency, regulatory readiness, and business value.

• Promote collaboration among business, technical, and operational teams.

• Mentor consultants while contributing to the ongoing development of Prominence's Data Governance practice.

• Balance strategic leadership with practical execution.

• Continuously assess emerging technologies, governance practices, and industry trends to enhance client outcomes.

• Exhibit curiosity, adaptability, humility, and a passion for lifelong learning.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Analytics, Information Management, Healthcare Operations, or related fields.

• Proven experience in leading enterprise Data Governance projects.

• Experience providing consulting services to healthcare organizations (provider, payer, or life sciences).

• In-depth knowledge of enterprise Data Governance and Information Management disciplines, including:

• Data Governance Frameworks

• Data Quality

• Metadata Management

• Master Data Management (MDM)

• Data Stewardship

• Data Lineage

• Data Catalogs

• Business Glossaries

• Reference Data Management

• Data Lifecycle Management

• Experience in facilitating executive-level governance councils, steering committees, and strategic workshops.

• Experience in establishing enterprise governance operating models and strategies for organizational adoption.

• Strong skills in project management, stakeholder engagement, and organizational change management.

• Exceptional communication, facilitation, and executive presentation abilities.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

• Familiarity with governance platforms such as Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Alation, Informatica, or Atlan.

• Knowledge of modern cloud data platforms including Microsoft Fabric, Azure, AWS, Snowflake, Databricks, or Google Cloud.

• Understanding of healthcare interoperability and standards like Epic, FHIR, HL7, and enterprise healthcare data domains.

• Experience supporting Healthcare Operations initiatives, including governance of clinical, operational, quality, financial, and performance data to enhance organizational effectiveness.

• Experience in implementing AI Governance frameworks or supporting responsible AI initiatives.

• Experience in leading enterprise data modernization initiatives, cloud migrations, or analytics transformations.

• Experience in developing enterprise data literacy, governance adoption, or organizational change management programs.

• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks including HIPAA and healthcare privacy requirements.

• DAMA CDMP certification or other relevant governance certifications.
