This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the design, development, optimization, and upkeep of scalable ETL pipelines.
• Direct normalization and transformation frameworks for various datasets.
• Create high-quality, reproducible code utilizing version control, modular design, automated testing, documentation, and CI/CD.
• Mentor and guide team members on software engineering design principles.
• Develop solutions within a secure cloud architecture leveraging Databricks Lakehouse features.
• Manage environment configuration, version control, deployment, and CI/CD for data pipelines and Databricks applications.
• Develop and sustain Databricks integrations with enterprise systems via APIs, S3 ingestion endpoints, and database connectors.
• Collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, and product teams on data ingestion, metadata management, automation workflows, and platform usability.
• Document technical requirements, user stories, and workflow specifications.
• Assist the scrum master and team members in estimating, sequencing, and prioritizing development tasks.
• Support the modernization and transformation of enterprise business solutions utilized by NASA.
• Proven experience in building scalable data-driven services, data ingestion pipelines, and automation workflows at an enterprise level.
• Background in contributing to high-reliability cloud solutions.
• Experience in addressing complex challenges with innovative, practical, and viable solutions.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities in dynamic, remote settings.
• Capacity to empathetically engage with platform customers to triage and resolve issues, promote self-service, and incorporate improvements based on feedback.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with data scientists, software engineers, platform engineers, cybersecurity experts, and product stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Demonstrated experience with agile project management tools.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a NASA Public Trust background investigation.
• Desired: Experience in supporting NASA Web Services Operational Environment.
• Desired: Familiarity with Databricks, Apache Airflow, or similar enterprise data platform applications.
• Desired: Experience in supporting Federal government projects.
• Ability to design and document technical solutions related to CI/CD.
