Data Engineer, GCP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and manage data models along with ETL/ELT pipelines for KPI and operational reporting.

• Extract, transform, and aggregate data from PostgreSQL databases and other pertinent sources.

• Ensure the quality, consistency, integrity, and availability of data across reporting environments.

• Optimize database queries and data structures to enhance dashboard performance and scalability.

• Conduct data validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting tasks.

• Prepare curated datasets and reporting layers for Looker Studio dashboards.

• Assist in the development and enhancement of operational and management reporting solutions.

• Convert business requirements into technical data specifications.

• Develop and maintain data solutions within the Google Cloud Platform ecosystem.

• Monitor data processing workflows and address production issues.

• Implement logging, monitoring, and best practices for data governance.

• Contribute to performance optimization and cost-effective utilization of cloud resources.

• Collaborate with software developers, business stakeholders, product owners, and QA teams.

• Engage in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.

• Validate the accuracy of reporting and completeness of data.

• Document technical solutions, data models, transformations, and business rules.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in Data Engineering or similar roles.

• Strong SQL skills with practical experience in PostgreSQL.

• Experience in designing and maintaining relational data models.

• Familiarity with ETL/ELT development and data integration processes.

• Experience in Google Cloud Platform environments.

• Ability to build data sources for BI and reporting tools.

• Understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.

• Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.

• Experience in supporting BI solutions and dashboard development.

• Practical experience with Looker Studio / Google Data Studio.

• Capability to translate business metrics into technical reporting solutions.

• Knowledge of KPI design, measurement, and reporting principles.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Effective communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders.

• Ability to work independently within distributed teams.

• Experience in Agile software development environments.

• Upper-Intermediate proficiency in English.
