Data Engineer – Fintech

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Construct and continually improve a domain-specific data infrastructure for the installment-loan sector.

• Create scalable data pipelines and dependable data architectures, utilizing tools such as dbt.

• Integrate data from various sources while identifying and managing dependencies.

• Prepare data for reporting, analytics, and AI applications.

• Design reusable and trustworthy data products.

• Organize and supply data for AI and automation use cases, ensuring compliance with data protection standards, GDPR, sensitive financial data regulations, and secure data access principles.

• Collaborate with teams in Product, Engineering, Data Analysis, and Data Science.

• Convert business requirements into scalable data solutions.

• Assume full ownership of data products, overseeing everything from modeling and implementation to stable operation.

• Independently prioritize and advance cross-team initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of experience in building and managing data pipelines, data models, or analytics-engineering solutions within production settings.

• Practical experience with SQL and Python.

• Familiarity with dbt and Airflow.

• Knowledge of data transformation, orchestration, and testing procedures.

• Experience with existing system landscapes and handling business, technical, and organizational dependencies.

• Ability to comprehend complex processes in the installment-loan industry and convert requirements into data models.

• Experience in testing, monitoring, plausibility checks, or similar methods for ensuring data quality.

• Understanding of the data quality, structure, and availability needs for AI and automation applications.

• Ideally, experience with data protection (e.g., GDPR), access control concepts, and sensitive data in regulated contexts.

• A data product-oriented mindset.

• Proficiency in the German language at a minimum C1 level, both written and spoken.
