This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.
• Facilitate the effective utilization of domain data as a product by delivering and advocating for strategically developed actionable datasets and data models.
• Construct, maintain, and enhance data pipelines utilizing a diverse array of technologies.
• Assist teams lacking data engineers in creating decentralized data solutions and product integrations.
• Develop data pipelines in the Lakehouse using Medallion architecture.
• Serve as a data ambassador, advocating for the importance of data and the data platform among engineering teams.
• Collaborate with product teams to incorporate data into end products and optimize source data.
• Adhere to and promote data mesh principles regarding decentralized data ownership and the concept of “data as a product.”
• Champion privacy-by-design principles, ensuring that sensitive data meets security and privacy regulations.
• Enhance engineering data literacy through training and mentoring initiatives.
• Propel agentic systems for data engineering by developing specialized skills and agents.
• Partner with product managers, software engineers, product analysts, data scientists, and regional business stakeholders to deliver and validate data projects from inception to completion.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in developing complex data pipelines and collaborating with technical and business stakeholders.
• Highly creative, driven, and self-motivated individual.
• Proficient SQL skills, including the ability to write efficient and readable SQL code.
• Familiarity with Medallion architecture.
• Experience in designing solutions for scalability, storage, and performance.
• Strong business and product acumen coupled with the capacity to navigate ambiguity.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering and managing data project lifecycles.
• Capability to develop robust Python applications with maintainable code.
• Experience with cloud data technologies such as AWS, GCP, or Azure Cloud.
• Proficiency with technologies like Redshift, Spark, Trino, Iceberg, or Airflow.
• Knowledgeable and curious about big data technologies and tools.
• Experience working with analytics teams and translating business terminology and KPIs into technical specifications.
• Familiarity with defining and assessing data quality, such as using Monte Carlo or Great Expectations.
• Experience with Claude Code and/or Cursor, skills, and AI agents.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Permanent employment contract.
