Data Engineer – Nordic OMOP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +9 more states.

📋 Description

• Designs, implements, and maintains solutions for data acquisition and integration from source systems to data warehouses and data marts.

• Collects and processes raw, structured, semi-structured, and unstructured healthcare and clinical data utilizing batch processing frameworks.

• Creates SQL tables, views, stored procedures, and user-defined functions.

• Develops and supports data transformation utilizing the OMOP Common Data Model and established healthcare terminology standards.

• Establishes and applies unit and integration data testing methodologies, focusing on healthcare data quality and OMOP data validation.

• Produces database diagrams, flow charts, script documentation, and training reference materials.

• Oversees assigned projects and adheres to deadlines with minimal oversight.

• Assists senior data engineers in preparing training materials and fostering team member development.

• Provides mentorship to fellow Data Engineers.

• Collaborates with clients, vendors, and technology teams to address escalated incidents and issues.

• Conducts basic root cause analysis.

• Implements CI/CD practices, unit testing, publish-subscribe architecture, and REST interface concepts in healthcare data platforms and AI/Generative AI data pipelines.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific field, preferably in computer science or information systems; or equivalent professional experience.

• At least 2 years of experience with enterprise data and cloud technologies.

• A minimum of 2 of the following certifications are required: W3Schools SQL Certification, SnowPro Core Certification, Epic Caboodle ETL Certified Administrator, DAMA CDMP Associate, Talend Data Integration Certified Developer, Talend Big Data Certified Developer, Talend Cloud Certified Administrator, Python PCEP, Python PCAP, Python PCAD, AWS Cloud Practitioner, Azure Data – Fundamentals.

• Strong organizational, analytical, reliable, detail-oriented, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Must possess excellent problem-solving abilities and a customer service orientation.

• Experience in data profiling and data quality analysis is preferred.

• Familiarity with cloud data services, dimensional databases, cubes, and columnar data structures is preferred.
