This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the data engineering foundation for LillyDirect, the direct-to-patient pharmacy platform of Lilly.

• Design, develop, and deliver data products for patient analytics that support prescription initiation, dispensing fulfillment, patient journey tracking, and program engagement analytics.

• Integrate data flows from LillyDirect into the consumer first-party data ecosystem while adhering to 1PD data standards.

• Architect a HIPAA-compliant data infrastructure, encompassing authorization capture, SPI consent management, consent scoping, and revocation propagation.

• Design and implement tokenization and identity resolution pipelines that connect prescription, dispensing, and intake pharmacy partner data.

• Build scalable data ingestion pipelines for pharmacy partner data and establish data quality standards and validation processes.

• Deliver semantic layers, curated datasets, data dictionaries, and governed access patterns for business intelligence reporting, self-service analytics, and agentic AI.

• Oversee data access and privacy controls in collaboration with legal, cybersecurity, and privacy teams.

• Manage data recertification milestones, Reltio/Cassie integrations, and decisions regarding consent scoping.

• Collaborate with the LillyDirect product team, intake pharmacy partners, the consumer first-party data platform team, and BIA platform enablement.

• Translate patient analytics requirements into technical specifications, ensuring the delivery of governed, high-quality data products.

• Work closely with the Sr. Director of Consumer Data Engineering.

• Be prepared to travel 0–25% based on business needs.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Information Technology, Information Management, or a related field.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering, focusing on the development of data products and solutions in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or other similarly regulated environments.

• At least 5 years of proficiency in SQL and Python.

• Over 5 years of hands-on experience with cloud-native data engineering tools such as Databricks, Delta Lake, and Apache Spark, as well as enterprise data warehouse platforms like Snowflake, Redshift, or their equivalents.

• Familiarity with large-scale patient or clinical datasets.

• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.

• Must have authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis; Lilly will not provide support for or sponsor work authorization or visas.

• Proven experience in designing and executing data ingestion pipelines for complex, multi-source data environments.

• Understanding of data modeling and database design principles.

• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and healthcare data privacy requirements.

• Preference for familiarity with patient data models such as OMOP/Common Data Model or equivalent.

• Experience within patient analytics or healthcare data ecosystems, including prescription, dispensing, intake pharmacy, or medical claims data.

• Knowledge of HIPAA authorization frameworks, SPI consent management, and consent revocation processes.

• Experience in tokenization and identity resolution.

• Background in semantic modeling and data dictionary development, including tools like Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, or equivalent BI platforms.

• Familiarity with Databricks Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, and lakehouse architecture patterns.

• Proven track record of leading complex, multi-stakeholder data engineering projects in regulated or compliance-driven environments.

• Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD tools, including GitHub-based version control and analytics scripting workflows.

• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and project management tools like JIRA.

• Ability to convert patient analytics requirements into scalable, privacy-first technical implementations.
