Data Engineer – DoD Program

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines, integrations, and backend services that support DoD systems.

• Handle structured and semi-structured data within secure enterprise environments.

• Construct and enhance ETL/ELT processes, data workflows, and solutions for data movement.

• Collaborate with backend, DevOps, cloud, and application teams to facilitate a scalable system architecture.

• Create APIs, services, and integrations that enable data access and promote system interoperability.

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and enhance data processing and backend performance issues.

• Ensure data quality, reliability, security, and adherence to federal standards.

• Engage in comprehensive SDLC activities, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment.

• Assist in modernization and cloud migration efforts, including those for AWS, Azure, or GovCloud environments.

• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automation, and deployment processes wherever applicable.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

• An active Top Secret (TS) clearance is required to begin; TS/SCI or SCI eligibility is preferred.

• At least 8 years of professional experience in software engineering, data engineering, backend development, or related technical roles.

• A Bachelor's degree is required.

• Strong foundational knowledge in backend engineering.

• Proven experience in designing and constructing data pipelines, integrations, or data processing workflows.

• Proficient SQL skills and experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, or similar.

• Programming experience in one or more backend/data engineering languages like Python, Java, Scala, or similar.

• Familiarity with Git-based version control systems.

• Understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

• Capability to work independently in a remote, cleared technical setting.
