Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and uphold ingestion pipelines from source systems into the Bronze layer.

• Clean, standardize, and unify data within the Silver layer.

• Model datasets for the Gold layer utilizing dbt.

• Collaborate with Product, Go-to-Market (GTM), and Artificial Intelligence teams to convert business requirements into data products.

• Assist external clients with data access, Embedded BI dashboards, and data exports.

• Monitor pipeline SLAs, address production incidents, and conduct data quality assessments.

• Maintain catalog and data lineage metadata.

• Address regulatory inquiries, supply audit evidence, and aid in incident investigations.

• Implement new ingestion methods, including API-based SaaS connectors and data streams.

• Design datasets tailored for artificial intelligence applications.

• Optimize costs and performance of the lakehouse platform.

• Design and sustain ETL processes, data models, and schemas.

• Oversee integration processes and work alongside data source owners.

• Provide technical support while continually enhancing data engineering practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, and ETL processes.

• Proficiency in Python and SQL.

• Familiarity with AWS data services, such as S3, Glue, and Athena.

• Practical experience with dbt (data build tool) for data transformation and modeling.

• Understanding of data lakehouse architectures and the medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold layers).

• Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.

• Experience with both relational and NoSQL databases.

• Authorized to work in Canada.

• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication abilities.

• Keen attention to detail.

• Capability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a dynamic environment.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on customer satisfaction.
