This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Design, develop, and sustain data pipelines and ETL processes that facilitate the ingestion, transformation, and validation of mission-critical data.
• Create and enhance data models and schemas across both relational and non-relational databases to support system integration and analytics activities.
• Work in partnership with system architects, integration developers, and data analysts to guarantee data consistency, security, and integrity across cloud environments.
• Execute data migration and synchronization tasks between legacy systems, applications, and modern cloud solutions.
• Leverage AWS services (Glue, Lambda, S3, RDS, Redshift, Kinesis) to construct and maintain scalable, fault-tolerant data infrastructures.
• Assist in data validation and reconciliation efforts, conducting quality checks and generating reports to ensure data accuracy.
• Integrate data from APIs, streaming sources, and file-based systems into centralized repositories or data lakes.
• Automate data workflows utilizing infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD principles to promote repeatability and efficiency.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance, ensuring compliance with SLAs and operational reliability.
• Apply data encryption, masking, and access controls in alignment with DoD cybersecurity policies and RMF requirements.
• Aid in the development of dashboards and analytics products that empower data-driven insights for mission stakeholders.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation and metadata repositories, including data dictionaries, lineage, and technical specifications.
• Engage in Agile sprints, contributing to backlog refinement, testing, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Proficient in Python, SQL, and ETL frameworks (e.g., Apache NiFi, Talend, or AWS Glue).
• Experience with cloud data services, ideally within AWS GovCloud (RDS, S3, Lambda, Glue, Redshift).
• Knowledgeable in database management systems (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, DynamoDB, MongoDB).
• Familiar with RESTful API integration and data exchange standards (JSON, XML, CSV).
• Understanding of DoD data security and compliance standards, including encryption, RMF, and STIG adherence.
• Experienced in developing and maintaining data validation, profiling, and transformation scripts.
• Exposure to data visualization and analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, QuickSight).
• Familiar with Agile software development and DevSecOps delivery frameworks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for data integration and performance tuning.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and functional teams.
• Detail-oriented with a strong emphasis on data accuracy and consistency.
• Capable of balancing data governance, security, and performance objectives.
• Committed to continuous improvement and enhancing mission impact through data-driven decision-making.
• Preferred certifications include: AWS Certified Data Engineer – Associate or AWS Certified Developer, CompTIA Security+ CE (DoD 8570), Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), or equivalent.
