Data Center Specialist – Starlink

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Enhance, deploy, troubleshoot, and repair hardware at Starlink PoP colocation sites globally.

• Travel both internationally and domestically to address hardware issues impacting Starlink user service and to deploy new hardware to expand our global network.

• Diagnose failures within fiber optic circuits and perform repairs to restore system functionality.

• Rack and stack router and server hardware at designated locations worldwide.

• Install servers and upgrade or replace server components following MOPs.

• Investigate and resolve issues related to onsite commercial network and routing hardware.

• Develop and enhance existing training documentation to promote continuous improvement of team skills.

• Coordinate the logistics and shipment of equipment and parts to POP sites.

• Execute spare parts strategy to ensure availability and reduce downtime.

• Conduct and coordinate data center site surveys for potential new POP locations.

• Perform wireless validation surveys for VIP events and provide support for global market access.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent certification.

• Over 2 years of experience in troubleshooting hardware or IT equipment within the IT or telecom sector.

• Strong proficiency in standard computer skills, including MS Office, Visio, and web applications.

• Exceptional attention to detail, standards, and documentation practices.

• Ability to read, comprehend, and adhere to MOPs.

• Experience working with fiber optics networks: installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair; utilizing fiber optic test equipment (OTDR, OLS, OPM, VFL).

• Experience in constructing IT/network racks (UPS, PDUs, cable management, servers, network devices).

• Experience in installing, activating, or troubleshooting CWDM and/or DWDM using standard fiber equipment and testers.

• A systematic approach to problem-solving and the capability to research solutions independently.

• Proficiency in languages in addition to English.
