This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +3 more states.
• Acts as an operations Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a significant operational area (e.g., electrical or mechanical) and provides guidance and mentorship to team members regarding these subsystems.
• Exhibits a comprehensive understanding of and operates equipment and systems across all disciplines (e.g., electrical, mechanical), with awareness of their interactions and the overall functioning of a data center.
• Manages all systems and equipment in alignment with Serverfarm, industry standards, and OSHA safety regulations and protocols.
• Aids the site/campus team in inspecting and supervising critical environment-related facility equipment (e.g., controls, HVAC, electrical and mechanical systems).
• Assists in and monitors the performance from central monitoring locations (i.e., Facility Operations Centers) regarding the maintenance and operations of equipment (e.g., electrical, mechanical, fire/life safety) and comprehends risks or impacts to other subsystems throughout the data center.
• Quickly reacts to and supports the site/campus incident response team for any abnormal conditions that affect operations and collaborates with the team to implement corrective repairs independently.
• Collaborates with site/campus leadership to gather essential information and creates incident timelines/data, root cause analyses, and/or action items following an abnormal condition as necessary.
• Develops new or adheres to existing emergency operating procedures (EOPs), methods of procedure (MOPs), standard operating procedures (SOPs), and digital methods of operating procedures (DMOPs) to facilitate site operations and incident response.
• Works alongside the Construction & Project team to ensure the ServerFarm Data Center site complies with all required statutory and mandatory regulations.
• Ensures all site MEP infrastructure operates within established capacity standards.
• Collaborates with peers in the global structure to coordinate all processes and align as needed.
• Supports the Change, Incident Management, and Problem Resolution processes for the area of responsibility, ensuring comprehensive coverage for all work.
• Partners with site/campus leadership to develop and nurture talent within the team.
• Assists the site/campus team with all major and minor project initiatives.
• Works with site/campus leadership to guarantee healthy and safe working conditions.
• Supports the training objectives for site/campus personnel.
• Associate degree or technical trade certification (e.g., military, trade school), or Journeyman level training AND 5+ years of experience in mission-critical services (e.g., high-availability assembly/manufacturing/critical infrastructure environments such as data centers, oil and gas refineries, hospitals, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or related fields).
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service. Self-motivated in the execution of administrative tasks. Reliable and punctual. Capable of working under pressure, managing changing and often conflicting priorities to meet deadlines. A team player who can collaborate with SFR staff at all levels. Able to make sound decisions when necessary. Capable of working independently for extended periods.
