This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.
• Guarantee the reliability, efficiency, and adherence to industry standards, protection standards, and regulations in design.
• Collaborate with fellow engineers while providing support for project documentation and initiatives aimed at continuous improvement.
• Lead and support the team responsible for designing the Control system, protection system, electrical distribution, telecom, and monitoring of a High Voltage substation, while also designing and integrating the main task.
• Produce single line diagrams, schematic diagrams, protection systems, electrical consumption details, and designs for auxiliary services, interlocking, communication, and network systems.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited university or college.
• At least 8 years of engineering experience in relevant activities or disciplines within a project and EPC environment, particularly in T&D, STATCOM, and HV substations.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% within the MEA & Europe, as well as to other countries/regions for short or medium durations based on project needs.
• Proficient in both spoken and written English.
• Familiarity with project organization and engineering processes pertinent to their area of responsibility.
• Minimum 5 years of experience working with SEC in KSA.
• Experience with Synchro Condensers in HV substations is an advantage.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Provide technical assistance to customers and project teams.
• Initiate and support the procurement of necessary equipment.
• Adhere to Quality processes and procedures, along with GE policies and procedures.
• Experience in resolving technical problems.
• Ensure that discipline design reviews and gate review plans are formalized and adhered to, facilitating integration into the overall substation design.
• ROR integrates design components and a mitigation plan is formalized, with action statuses identified (not started, ongoing, closed).
• Prepare a discipline provisional document list aligned with the project schedule and achievable task durations.
• Monitor a full set of KPIs on a monthly basis.
• Strictly adhere to design management tools and submit coherent data.
• Maintain a design change process.
• Oversee engineering subcontractors on specific work packages.
• Supervise the commissioning and testing of low voltage systems.
• No relocation assistance provided.
• This is a remote position.
