This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Ensure the reliability, efficiency, and adherence to industry standards, protection standards, and regulations in design.
• Collaborate with fellow engineers and provide support for project documentation and continuous improvement efforts.
• Design and integrate control systems, protection systems, electrical distribution, telecom, and monitoring of a High Voltage substation.
• Deliver single line diagrams, schematic diagrams, protection systems, electrical consumption details, and design of auxiliary services, interlocking, communication, and network.
• Lead and support the team responsible for designing the Control system and protection system.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited university or college.
• At least 8 years of engineering experience in a related field within project and EPC type environments in T&D, STATCOM, and HV substations.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% within MEA & Europe, as well as other countries/regions for short to medium periods as required.
• Proficient in both oral and written English.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with SEC in KSA.
• Experience with Synchro Condensers in HV substations is advantageous.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Provide technical support to customers and project teams.
• Initiate and support the procurement of equipment.
• Adhere to Quality processes and procedures as well as GE policies and procedures.
• Demonstrated experience in technical problem-solving.
• Ensure discipline design reviews and Gate reviews plans are formalized and followed for integration into the overall substation design.
• Ensure ROR integrates design parts and formalizes mitigation plans with identified action statuses (not started, ongoing, closed).
• Prepare and align the discipline provisional document list with the project timeline, ensuring achievable task durations.
• Monitor a full set of KPIs on a monthly basis.
• Strictly follow design management tools and submit coherent data.
• Implement a design change process.
• Manage engineering subcontractors on specific work packages.
• Oversee the commissioning and testing of Low Voltage systems.
