
Data Center Infrastructure Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design and architect the physical infrastructure necessary to facilitate data center scale deployments of networks, servers, and GPUs, including rack layouts, components, cable management, power, and cooling needs.
• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to establish and evolve the hardware deployment strategies and designs essential for meeting business, scalability, redundancy, and security criteria.
• Develop and assess hardware BOMs for deployments to confirm alignment with business and design specifications.
• Produce documentation, drawings, cable schedules, and technical materials for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Partner with facilities, vendors, and on-site contractors to effectively construct and launch new facilities and hardware deployments.
• Verify installations and connections against design specifications.
• Collaborate with internal teams and contractors to identify and resolve any hardware or connectivity issues.
• Work alongside project management teams and other stakeholders to oversee the physical infrastructure components of projects.
• Create and maintain physical infrastructure documentation and assist in training other technical teams on physical infrastructure.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Over 7 years of experience in server infrastructure, with a minimum of 3 years in an architecture or design capacity.
• Familiarity with colocation, hyperscale, or enterprise-class data center providers.
• Comprehensive understanding of network hardware, designs, and cabling.
• Expertise in server hardware components, configurations, and storage systems.
• Extensive knowledge of data center facility equipment, operations, and design standards, including power, cooling, cabling, monitoring, and operations.
• Proficient in Linux and common Network OS platforms.
• Proven history of successfully leading large-scale data center projects from initiation to completion.
• Capability to lead cross-functional projects and mentor junior engineers.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Exceptional communication and documentation abilities.
• Highly organized, self-motivated, and adept at managing multiple priorities.
