Data Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Database Design: Create and manage relational databases (PostgreSQL) for internal reporting and client initiatives.

• Pipeline Development: Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines in Python to gather data from various sources including APIs, SFTP, cloud exports, and third-party systems.

• Data Integration: Connect and unify multiple data sources into cohesive data platforms (e.g., ERP systems, CRMs, accounting tools).

• SQL Optimization: Craft and enhance complex SQL queries for data transformation and reporting requirements.

• Dashboard Support: Provide backend support for dashboards created with Power BI and custom reporting tools.

• Finance Collaboration: Collaborate closely with finance consultants to organize financial data and enhance reporting efficiency.

⛳️ Requirements

• Database Development: 2–3 years of practical experience in SQL database development (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar), including schema design, indexing, and query optimization.

• Python Engineering: Proficient in Python for data engineering tasks — constructing pipelines, API integrations, and automation workflows.

• Data Ingestion: Practical experience in ingesting data from various sources: REST APIs, databases, and cloud platforms.

• Infrastructure Comfort: Comfortable using the command line, working in Linux environments, and managing containerized workflows (Docker).

• Data Wrangling: Skilled at structuring and cleansing disorganized financial or operational data from diverse sources.

• Development Practices: Knowledge of version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.

• Language: Proficient in English - both written and spoken.

• Work Style: Independent and quality-focused approach with a hands-on mentality.

• Desirable (but not required): Familiarity with Power BI for reporting and dashboard development.
