Data Analyst – GWV NewForce Insights, ALT-EXP Project

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Aggregate and cleanse datasets from various sources including interviews, surveys, public datasets, and tourism metrics.

• Create dashboards and visual representations utilizing tools such as:

• - Power BI

• - Tableau

• - Looker Studio

• Convert qualitative interview data into structured insights and themes.

• Assist in the creation of:

• - Regional economic profiles

• - Summaries of tourism and recreation impacts

• - Data visuals for reports, media, and presentations.

• Collaborate with media and storytelling teams to ensure alignment of data insights with narrative outputs.

• Aid in the compilation of the final Economic Insights Report.

• Organize and document datasets for future collaboration with partners.

⛳️ Requirements

• Successful completion of NewForce training (Cohort 12).

• Expertise in at least one data visualization tool (Power BI, Tableau, or Looker Studio).

• Strong skills in data cleaning and analysis (Excel, SQL, or Python preferred).

• Capability to synthesize both qualitative and quantitative data.

• Proficient in clear communication and data storytelling.

• Experience with geospatial data or mapping tools.

• Familiarity with datasets related to economic development or tourism.

• Experience in working with unstructured data (interviews, transcripts).
