This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Investigating our datasets to uncover new insights regarding the American criminal justice system.
• Framing and conveying key findings to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Partnering with our State Engagement and Implementation Engineering teams to develop and implement targeted roadmaps that create impact in the states where we operate.
• Working alongside our Product Management, Data Science, and Software Engineering teams to integrate analyses and data modeling into production software.
• Examining trends and changes in areas pertinent to our work to gain a better understanding of how our products perform.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, essential for fostering a knowledgeable, data-driven culture.
• A passion for engaging with internal and external partners from various backgrounds and perspectives, including government personnel, researchers, journalists, technical experts, and practitioners in criminal justice reform.
• Capability to assess source data, reason about data models, scrutinize results, and prepare data and analyses that are applicable for different uses.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in exploring, analyzing, and processing complex datasets.
• Professional experience utilizing SQL for working with large datasets, with a strong proficiency in crafting efficient queries for advanced data extraction and transformation tasks.
• High level of familiarity with Python, particularly the Pandas package, for activities such as statistical analysis and data visualization.
