Data & AI Strategy Leader

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee AI and data strategy projects from start to finish: defining problems, assessing readiness, prioritizing use cases, and designing roadmaps and operational models aligned with revenue, customer experience, and innovation goals.

• Take ownership of engagement delivery; manage project scope and risks, build relationships with executive stakeholders (including C-suite), and lead impactful discovery, prioritization, and "art of the possible" workshops.

• Connect business requirements with technological solutions: create balanced recommendations regarding technology, organization, and processes, and develop persuasive narratives and solid business cases for AI/data investments.

• Design future-state AI and data operational models and technology frameworks with an emphasis on safety, scalability, total cost of ownership, and compliance with regulations.

• Provide oversight for AI/data platforms; ensure execution aligns with the established strategy; maintain the quality of all output from engagements and mentor project team members on consulting fundamentals and business impact.

• Act as a trusted advisor to day-to-day client sponsors and senior stakeholders, managing relationships, aligning on delivery roadmaps, and identifying expansion opportunities.

• Collaborate with executive sponsors, data and analytics leaders, product and delivery teams, and business end-users to guarantee seamless execution and measurable results.

• Foster cross-practice relationships (Data Engineering, Analytics, AI/ML, Advisory) to design and implement comprehensive solutions that enhance customer success.

• Contribute to phData's AI and Data Strategy offerings: methodologies, frameworks, accelerators, and client-ready materials.

• Assist in sales efforts, client presentations, and thought leadership initiatives centered around AI and data strategy.

• Guide consultants and senior consultants in developing strategic thinking, executive presence, and ensuring delivery quality.

⛳️ Requirements

• 6+ years of experience as a hands-on leader in AI or data strategy, responsible for managing strategy engagements and roadmaps.

• 2+ years of experience in consulting leadership with external clients, overseeing multiple workstreams and teams.

• Demonstrated ability to engage with senior stakeholders (including C-suite) and articulate a clear, compelling narrative behind recommendations.

• Experience in identifying and prioritizing AI/data opportunities, designing roadmaps and operational models, and constructing business cases linked to revenue, cost, risk, and customer experience.

• Strong technical understanding of modern cloud and data platforms, data governance, AI governance, ML pipelines, and their connection to business outcomes.

• Experience in leading workshops (discovery, prioritization, "art of the possible"), driving change and adoption, and coaching or mentoring consultants and technical leaders.

• Proven track record of collaborating with client stakeholders, partners, and cross-functional teams with a high degree of ownership and accountability.

• Significant experience in leading multi-engagement or multi-year AI/data strategy portfolios.
