Damage Prevention Technician, Level I, II, III

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Analyzing blueprints to ascertain the locations for construction projects.

• Recording interactions, site details, and utilities in organizational software.

• Engaging in communication with clients, engineers, and management.

• Employing various techniques (electrical, magnetic, GPS, blueprint analysis, and/or radar) to identify Zayo's facility.

• Proactively spotting potential issues to maintain the integrity of the network.

• Accurately determining the coordinates of lines using GPS or surveying tools.

• Overseeing the asset management process and the replenishment of materials on-site or in trucks.

• Ensuring the upkeep of tools, test sets, and all network equipment.

• Serving as the subject matter expert on technology, processes, and company infrastructure.

• Providing training to fellow employees as necessary.

• Engaging, monitoring, and assessing the performance of vendors and contractors.

⛳️ Requirements

• Damage Prevention Tech I: At least 6 months of experience in locating.

• Damage Prevention Tech II: A minimum of 2 years of experience in locating fiber and other underground utilities.

• Damage Prevention Tech III: At least 5 years of experience in locating fiber and other underground utilities.

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

• Previous experience in site development, underground installations, utility locating, and fiber optic cable builds is preferred.

• Proficiency in using computers, smartphones, testing equipment, the Microsoft Windows operating system, and Office applications.

• Must be able to maintain eligibility to drive a company-issued vehicle.

• A smartphone is required.

• Ability to regularly lift objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
