This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Evaluating blueprints to ascertain the locations of construction projects.
• Identifying and mapping the location and depth of utilities for fiber optic cables and underground systems.
• Recording interactions, site details, and utility information in organizational software.
• Engaging in communication with clients, engineers, and management.
• Utilizing various methods (electrical, magnetic, GPS, blueprint analysis, and/or radar) to gauge utilities.
• Proactively recognizing potential issues to maintain the integrity of the network and the company.
• Determining the coordinates of lines using GPS or surveying equipment.
• Overseeing asset management processes and the replenishment of on-site/truck materials.
• Coordinating the shipping and receiving of both company and customer materials.
• Ensuring the maintenance of tools, test equipment, and all network apparatus.
• Upholding network/site security, cleanliness, and adherence to all policies related to company property.
• Inspecting cabinets, buried cables, construction sites, and various outdoor facilities under diverse environmental conditions, including exposure to local flora and fauna.
• Functioning effectively in both individual and team settings, collaborating with this team and others to accomplish shared objectives.
• Performing additional duties as assigned.
• A minimum of 1 year of pertinent experience with utility locating, fiber optic cable installations, and field construction tasks is required.
• Candidates must reside within a 30-minute commute from the Bradenton, FL area.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• A basic understanding of underground installations is preferred.
• Proficiency in using computers, cell phones, testing equipment, the Microsoft Windows operating system, and Office applications is essential.
• Must be available for on-call duties 24/7/365 on a rotating schedule, including standby, call-out, dispatch, and overtime as business needs dictate, along with some travel as required.
• Adherence to all personal safety policies and procedures is mandatory.
• Candidates must maintain eligibility to operate a company-issued vehicle according to our policy (no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years), which includes having a state-issued driver’s license for the state of residence.
• Ability to regularly lift objects weighing up to 100 pounds and move them away from the job site is required.
