D365 F&O L3 Technical Support Analyst – SCM

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Serve as the L3 technical escalation point for incidents, problems, and service requests related to D365 F&O.

• Analyze and resolve intricate production issues, which include:

• Failures of batch jobs and performance bottlenecks.

• Data integrity issues, posting errors, and sporadic defects.

• Failures in integrations and errors in APIs/services.

• Issues specific to the environment across Dev/Test/UAT/Prod.

• Conduct thorough root cause analysis utilizing logs, traces, monitoring tools, and debugging methods.

• Generate high-quality fixes (hotfixes, data corrections, configuration-supporting code modifications) to ensure minimal operational disruption.

• Collaborate with Microsoft Support and third-party vendors/ISVs as necessary for critical defects.

• Design, develop, and maintain extension-based solutions in accordance with Microsoft best practices (avoiding over-layering).

• Create and support:

• X++ customizations and extensions.

• SSRS reports, Data Entities, and OData/Custom services.

• Enhancements to the batch framework and asynchronous processing.

• Perform code reviews to guarantee:

• Performance, security, maintainability, and supportability.

• Adherence to coding standards and deployment guidelines.

• Enhance solution performance through:

• Query tuning, indexing suggestions, and caching considerations.

• Efficient scheduling of batches and separation of workloads.

• Support and improve integrations, including:

• OData, REST services, and DMF (Data Management Framework).

• Azure integrations (e.g., Service Bus, Functions, Logic Apps) when applicable.

• Integration touchpoints with the Power Platform (as relevant).

• Diagnose and address interface and data movement challenges (mapping, transformations, retries, sequencing).

• Assist with data activities such as:

• Data corrections, reconciliation routines, and entity-based imports/exports.

• Ensuring auditability and controlled execution of data fixes.

• Contribute to release planning and deployment execution across environments (Dev/Test/UAT/Prod).

• Utilize Azure DevOps to manage:

• Work items, branching, pull requests, and build/release pipelines.

• Maintain and enhance CI/CD practices, including:

• Automated build validation, code quality checks, and release approvals.

• Support LCS activities (as applicable):

• Conduct environment health checks, deployable packages, updates/hotfixing.

• Manage user access rights.

• Troubleshoot security roles and analyze duties/privileges.

• Assist with user licensing (assign/remove licenses & support license renewal processes).

• Operate within ITIL-aligned MSS processes: incident, problem, change, and request fulfillment.

• Create clear technical documentation:

• RCA reports, technical notes, deployment runbooks, and knowledge base articles.

• Identify recurring issues and initiate problem prevention and automation.

• Mentor and support L1 and L2 support teams, ensuring effective issue resolution and knowledge transfer.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of hands-on development experience with D365 Finance & Operations.

• Proven experience in production support/managed services or a comparable BAU environment.

• Strong history of delivering supportable customizations and fixes in live systems.

• Proficient D365 F&O development skills, including:

• X++, extensions, event handlers, and Chain of Command.

• Expertise in debugging techniques and log/trace analysis.

• Familiarity with:

• SSRS, Data Entities, and DMF.

• Integrations (OData/services; preferably Azure integration patterns).

• Knowledge of:

• LCS, deployable packages, servicing, and updates.

• Azure DevOps (repos, PRs, pipelines, releases).
