This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, implement, and reinforce security measures across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid infrastructures.
• Collaborate with engineering, data, and operations teams to integrate security into the development process.
• Oversee vulnerability management, perform security architecture evaluations, configure and optimize security tools (SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners), and manage incident response from start to finish.
• Create and uphold necessary documents for Authorization to Operate (ATO) in accordance with the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF).
• Convert NIST 800-53, DISA STIGs, and CNSSI guidelines into actionable engineering strategies.
• Work closely with the ISSO and ISSM to ensure the system's security posture remains robust and auditable.
• Anticipate and resolve unique and/or intricate issues with minimal guidance.
• Excel in a dynamic technical setting that emphasizes mission impact and expediency.
• Active Secret clearance is required, with the capability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance.
• At least 5 years of practical cybersecurity engineering experience within DoD, IC, or other federal contexts.
• Proven experience in implementing and sustaining controls under the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NIST SP 800-53.
• Practical experience with SIEM platforms (such as Splunk, Sentinel, or Elastic), EDR tools, and vulnerability management systems (like Tenable, Rapid7, or similar).
• Familiarity with applying DISA STIGs, SCAP scanning, and addressing issues on Windows, Linux, and network devices.
• DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, or equivalent) must be obtained at the time of hire.
• Proficient in scripting with PowerShell, Python, or Bash to automate security-related tasks.
