Cybersecurity Assessment and Authorization SME – DAAS API GW

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Acts as a cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert (SME) regarding the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) of information systems, along with all related cybersecurity policies and procedures.

• Conducts a DOW cybersecurity process while either granting authorization for an information system or serving as a SME for an information system that is in the authorization phase.

• Has a comprehensive understanding of how the security controls outlined in NIST 800-53 relate to the evaluation and authorization of a large organization's IT infrastructure, such as DLA’s, which encompasses a mix of large and small enclaves, AIS applications, and outsourced IT operations.

• Evaluates the applicable severity rating for identified vulnerabilities (e.g., non-compliant security controls) and assesses the potential consequences on the system’s current or future authorization status.

• Provides updates to senior management regarding the progress or outcomes of an information system that is undergoing the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of five (5) years of pertinent experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST, and A&A.

• At least five (5) years of applicable DOW cybersecurity experience.

• Experience in assessing security controls and performing authorization reviews for large, complex organizations.

• Familiarity with the fundamental principles supporting the overall DOW implementation of its authorization process, including relevant cybersecurity policies, procedures, and processes.

• Proficient in the cybersecurity aspects of emerging technology areas such as Cloud and Industrial Control Systems (ICSs), warehouse execution systems, and Operational Technology (OT) infrastructures.

• Demonstrated experience in evaluating security controls and conducting authorization reviews for large, complex organizations.
