Director of IT – Security Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Responsible for the security, availability, and compliance of systems.

• Implement and document the necessary controls for SOC 2 Type 2 and HIPAA compliance.

• Oversee the risk register and conduct an annual risk assessment.

• Apply least privilege access principles across both corporate and production systems.

• Supervise cloud hosting vendors and manage changes within the environment.

• Continuously monitor the security of corporate and cloud infrastructures.

• Lead the team that provides technical support to employees.

• Develop and oversee the disaster recovery and business continuity processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of operations, systems, network, and cloud security.

• Proven experience in implementing and demonstrating controls for SOC 2 Type 2 and the HIPAA Security Rule within a production setting that manages regulated data.

• Practical experience with identity and access management, least-privilege architecture, and privileged access management.

• Familiarity with infrastructure as code (Terraform) and change management within a CI/CD pipeline.

• Experience with SIEM solutions and security monitoring for cloud environments.

• Strong leadership skills and sound business judgment.

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, including prioritization, planning, and execution.

• Experience in troubleshooting production workloads using application and system monitoring tools.

• Familiarity with replication, federation, and relational database systems.
