This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Install, maintain, and support anti-malware across all network storage devices, ensuring comprehensive coverage within the environment. Monitor and address malware alerts, ensuring that alerts and logs are accurately defined and transmitted to the SIEM.
• Review daily scheduled jobs and services for any errors or issues. Open support cases with vendors when necessary and ensure issues are fully resolved.
• Assess event collection on all monitored devices to confirm complete coverage and rectify any issues to prevent loss of events.
• Monitor CVEs related to data security software and Windows/Linux operating systems. Stay updated with software vendor releases, timely install updates and patches to close any vulnerability gaps, and implement alternative countermeasures when updates are not yet available for vulnerabilities.
• Execute projects to identify and remediate data that has excessive access permissions.
• Collaborate with internal teams (including server, storage, collaboration, active directory, business units, etc.) to achieve project objectives and provide support and expertise on storage security.
• Assist the Collaboration team in applying data classification labels on data.
• Generate requested reports for users, including but not limited to:
• Display all activity for users within a specified timeframe.
• Identify how files in a share or folder have disappeared and determine who was responsible.
• Provide a report on stale data.
• Indicate where sensitive files exist with open permissions.
• Show locations of files containing SSNs or credit card numbers.
• Work collaboratively with and support internal Cyber teams, such as Incident Detection, Incident Response, Investigation, and Data Loss Prevention, on data security requirements.
• Utilize data security software to establish alerts for anomalous activities and ensure that alerts are communicated to the SIEM.
• Conduct health checks on servers, monitor resource utilization, and proactively request additional resources to guarantee optimal performance.
• Collaborate with Incident Detection, Incident Response, Investigation, and Data Loss Prevention teams to provide necessary data from data security tools.
• Oversee the implementation of data security hardware and software at new sites from inception to completion, including submitting requests for firewall rule modifications.
• Manage and support host-based intrusion detection systems.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
• Over 2 years of experience in installing, configuring, and utilizing cybersecurity software for data protection. Familiarity with NetApp, Varonis, and Trend Micro Server Protect is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of CIFS and NTFS, as well as proficiency in the underlying network protocols these depend on.
• Highly skilled in NTFS permissions, ownership, share/folder ACLs, and inheritance.
• Administrative experience with both Windows Server and Linux operating systems, along with scripting capabilities on these platforms.
• Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
• Experience in leading change controls within large global manufacturing enterprises.
• Collaborate with Cybersecurity to investigate alerts, provide alert details, and generate reports, requiring clear communication over a stable phone line.
• Understanding of the network ports and protocols required by software, with responsibility for submitting firewall requests to open necessary ports for new modules or Varonis servers.
• Experience using a SIEM for data querying; KQL query experience with Sentinel is preferred but not mandatory, provided there is experience in building queries using other languages, such as SQL.
• Experience in leading evaluations and proof-of-concept initiatives for new products, creating unbiased analyses with defined evaluation criteria, and presenting an easily understandable matrix of data supporting recommendations.
