This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Analyze realistic scenarios related to import and export that comply with Mexican customs laws.

β€’ Create expert reference solutions for tasks related to customs classification and trade compliance.

β€’ Document the rationale behind customs decisions and interpretations of regulations.

β€’ Evaluate and verify alternative solutions for technical precision, completeness, and adherence to regulations.

β€’ Identify gaps in information, erroneous assumptions, or inappropriate sequences of decisions.

β€’ Refer to applicable regulations including Ley Aduanera, LIGIE, TIGIE, NOMs, RRNA, and T-MEC.

β€’ Work collaboratively with the project team to ensure that expert knowledge is accurately represented.

β€’ Contribute expert workflows and decision-making processes to reference materials that support advanced AI systems.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ A minimum of 3 years of recent, hands-on experience in customs brokerage, tariff classification, trade compliance, import/export operations, or a related field.

β€’ Current or recent practical experience with Mexican customs regulations and procedures within the last two years.

β€’ One or more relevant professional credentials, such as Licensed Agente Aduanal, Clasificador Arancelario, Trade Compliance Specialist, Customs Compliance Specialist, Import/Export Compliance Professional, or Customs or Trade Consultant.

β€’ Professional fluency in Spanish.

β€’ Ability to articulate and document the reasoning behind regulatory and classification decisions clearly.

β€’ Working proficiency in English adequate for understanding project instructions and communicating with the project team.

β€’ Preferred experience in tariff classification, LIGIE/TIGIE, T-MEC/USMCA, NOMs and RRNA, customs valuation, rules of origin, pedimentos, VUCEM, and customs audits or trade compliance reviews.

β€’ Preferred experience with official Mexican customs resources such as ANAM, SAT, SNICE, and VUCEM.

β€’ Experience with commercial customs software is a plus, but not mandatory.

β€’ Knowledge of U.S. customs regulations, HTS classification, or cross-border Mexico-U.S. trade operations is an advantage.
