This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia.
• Compile comprehensive document packages and furnish necessary information to customs brokers for export declarations.
• Evaluate commercial data, which includes declared value, country of origin, Incoterms, and product descriptions.
• Confirm the accuracy and compliance of export documentation and customs entries with EU customs regulations.
• Prepare replies and supporting documentation for inquiries from customs authorities.
• Oversee communication with customs brokers, transport companies, and customs authorities.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to export declarations and associated documents.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders during customs reviews and audits.
• Accurately and promptly manage urgent and non-standard customs cases.
• Evaluate product eligibility under preferential trade agreements.
• Manage Supplier’s Declarations and prepare information necessary for EUR.1 certificates.
• Assist with T2 procedures and mandatory invoice declarations for San Marino.
• Maintain documentation associated with both preferential and non-preferential origin.
• Handle customs procedures for warranty replacements, claims returns, repair shipments, and re-imports post-repair.
• Coordinate duty-free re-import procedures and other special customs arrangements.
• Develop case-specific solutions that comply with applicable EU and local customs requirements, including the BAP system where applicable.
• Determine and verify HS codes for technical and manufacturing products.
• Collaborate with technical teams to gather product information and supporting documentation.
• Ensure alignment between product descriptions, technical specifications, HS codes, and customs documentation.
• Manage special export procedures for period-end deliveries.
• Review export transactions and address documentation issues during month-end closing.
• Collaborate with warehouse, logistics, finance, and internal teams to ensure timely shipment processing.
• Provide guidance on export requirements and perform pre-shipment documentation checks.
• Identify opportunities for enhancing customs and export workflows.
• Work alongside IT and operations teams on ERP improvements and process automation.
• Support the establishment of scalable and reliable customs compliance processes.
• 3–5+ years of professional experience as a Customs Specialist, Customs Brokerage Manager, Export Compliance Specialist, or a similar customs operations professional.
• Strong practical understanding of EU export customs procedures, rules of origin, and preferential trade agreements.
• Hands-on experience with EUR.1 certificates, Supplier’s Declarations, T2 procedures, and export documentation.
• Proven experience in determining and verifying HS codes, preferably for technical or manufacturing products.
• Experience in direct communication with customs authorities and managing third-party customs brokers.
• Practical experience in handling returns, warranty replacements, repairs, and re-import procedures.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and customs software or system integrations.
• Strong attention to detail when reviewing complex commercial and customs documentation.
• Demonstrated ownership and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to independently manage intricate cases.
• Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to perform well under tight deadlines, especially during month-end closing periods.
• Process-oriented mindset with an interest in continuous improvement and automation.
• Proficiency in English at B2/C1 level.
• Current residence and authorization to work within the European Union.
• Proficiency in additional European languages is an advantage.
