Customer Solutions Engineer

📋 Description

• You will collaborate closely with customers in your local area, onsite when necessary, to thoroughly understand their workflows, limitations, and the definition of “success” in practical terms.

• You will oversee technical exploration, solution formulation, and execution for significant customer implementations: including integrations, data onboarding, workflow setups, and new product features essential for delivering value.

• You will develop and deploy production code that enhances Partly’s core SaaS + API platform, often through tight feedback loops with users while ensuring reliability, security, and maintainability are upheld.

• You will bridge the gap between customer requirements and our product/engineering roadmap: converting vague challenges into explicit requirements, defined milestones, and quantifiable results.

• You will take on the role of hands-on technical leader for deployments after launch: addressing live issues, enhancing observability, strengthening edge cases, and fostering continuous enhancement.

• You will gain expertise in the intricate (and sometimes chaotic) auto parts sector, assisting customers in modernizing their processes for sourcing, identifying, and transacting parts.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in building and delivering complex software in production settings.

• Strong empathy for customers and product insight: you can convert real-world workflows into practical solutions.

• Comfortable managing the entire lifecycle: from discovery to design, building, deploying, operating, and iterating.

• Solid understanding of engineering principles: APIs, testing, system design, data structures, and debugging.

• Capability to work across different domains: you can engage with customer IT teams, operations teams, and internal product/engineering stakeholders with clear written and verbal communication.

• Experience in integrating with external systems (APIs, webhooks, EDI/FTP/file feeds, SSO) and handling imperfect data.

• Ability to function in uncertain environments and quickly make sound trade-offs (balancing time-to-value with long-term maintainability).

• (Bonus) Background in forward-deployed, solutions engineering, technical consulting, or implementation roles.

• (Bonus) Experience with automotive parts, repairer/supplier workflows, or related B2B marketplaces.

• (Bonus) Familiarity with Rust or a strong desire to learn it.
