Customer Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Facilitate technical discovery conversations to comprehend prospects’ AI/ML architecture, use cases, and requirements.

• Cultivate expertise in OpenRouter’s products and solutions, applying them to address business challenges.

• Evaluate technical compatibility, encompassing API integration, model specifications, data residency, and compliance.

• Create and present tailored product demonstrations.

• Develop demos and oversee proof-of-concept environments.

• Collaborate with account executives from the discovery phase through to closure.

• Address customer proposals and respond to technical inquiries.

• Deliver presentations at customer meetings, QBRs, and executive briefings.

• Tackle technical objections and strategize competitive positioning.

• Assist in contract negotiations concerning technical terms, SLAs, and implementation schedules.

• Provide feedback to Product and Engineering on feature requests, competitive gaps, and market needs.

• Influence product roadmap prioritization based on customer requirements.

• Remain informed about AI/ML trends and the competitive landscape.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience as a Sales Engineer, Customer Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or Solutions Architect in B2B SaaS, API, or infrastructure platforms.

• Solid technical foundation with practical experience in software development, APIs, or cloud infrastructure.

• Outstanding presentation abilities and skill in elucidating complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

• Strong analytical skills and capability to design solutions under pressure.

• Customer-centric mindset with a sincere desire to assist customers in achieving their goals.

• Experience in sales engineering related to AI/ML technologies, LLMs, or machine learning platforms is advantageous.

• Work location is restricted to the US.

• Work authorization or sponsorship status may be necessary for employment in the US.
