This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide training for all culinary roles aboard any of the Lindblad vessels.
• Create a thorough training plan tailored to each culinary position.
• Execute the provisioning plan according to the storage capacity and itineraries of the ships.
• Step in as a temporary chef or assist in any culinary role as required.
• Ensure the onboard team conducts professional evaluations, tracks performance, and formulates individual development plans for galley staff aimed at fostering professional growth.
• Conduct interviews for potential candidates and oversee the onboarding process.
• Collaborate with the culinary manager to develop training materials and programs; create season-specific order guides that include general par levels based on the menu matrix and market product availability.
• Review voyage menus, comment cards, and monitor onboard performance.
• Ensure that vessels maintain compliance with United States Public Health (USPH) standards, including onboard training.
• Maintain a general understanding of galley equipment and ensure all crew members are trained in proper operations.
• Contribute to new initiatives from hotel leadership, emphasizing creativity, innovation, and operational excellence.
• Manage transitions and handovers to provide relevant and useful information for incoming chefs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• A degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent, along with culinary and management experience.
• Preferred maritime shipboard experience.
• Proficient in English, with the ability to read, write, and comprehend policies, legal guidelines, correspondence, and memos.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to persuade.
• Proven experience as an administrative assistant or in a similar capacity.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Capacity to stand for extended periods in a high-temperature galley environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Attention to detail and adept problem-solving skills.
• Regular travel is required, up to 50% of the time.
