CTO – Lead Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ethiopia.

📋 Description

• Oversee the architecture and technical strategy for backend and full-stack systems

• Develop and incorporate AI/ML-driven features and workflows into production products

• Utilize LLMs and contemporary AI tools to expedite product development

• Engage in ongoing projects and swiftly achieve productivity

• Deliver production-quality code promptly and consistently

• Guide and mentor developers while upholding a high standard of engineering excellence

• Troubleshoot intricate issues across systems and infrastructure

• Employ modern AI-assisted development workflows (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, etc.)

• Work collaboratively with product and leadership teams

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development in a production environment

• At least 2 years of experience leading engineering teams or serving as a tech lead

• Strong background in backend engineering (full-stack experience is preferred)

• Demonstrated experience in integrating AI/ML models into production applications

• Familiarity with LLM APIs, AI agents, embeddings, RAG systems, or similar AI infrastructure

• Ability to quickly comprehend unfamiliar codebases and work independently

• Proficient in modern coding practices and AI-assisted development techniques

• Excellent debugging and problem-solving capabilities

• Strong proficiency in English, both spoken and written

• High sense of ownership and the capacity to operate with minimal supervision

• Outstanding communication and leadership abilities
