This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of technical delivery for a select portfolio of 1–2 enterprise accounts, establishing direction, managing risks, and ensuring high-quality outcomes.
• Serve as the senior technical advisor for C-suite stakeholders, transforming business challenges into architectural solutions and justifying those decisions.
• Assist clients in navigating complex AI transformation choices—determining when to automate, when to enhance, how to govern, and how to scale successful initiatives.
• Be the go-to person for clients during critical situations or when they require a strategic viewpoint, rather than merely a project status update.
• Develop reusable Tribe intellectual property from your client engagements, including architectural patterns, evaluation frameworks, deployment playbooks, and tools that elevate the baseline for every FDE team.
• Contribute to the Tribe's perspective in your area of expertise—whether in healthcare, financial services, supply chain, or another sector in which you possess deep knowledge.
• Identify generalizable solutions before others, as the best FD-CTOs not only resolve a single client's issues but do so in a manner that streamlines future engagements.
• Recruit, nurture, and retain FD Engineers, Architects, and PMs throughout your accounts.
• Foster an environment that enables your teams to perform at their best—providing clear scope, appropriate tools, and the support needed to move quickly.
• Conduct 1:1 meetings and performance discussions that genuinely promote individual growth rather than merely fulfilling administrative requirements.
• 12+ years of engineering experience with significant expertise in AI/ML and production systems.
• You have either founded a company or developed a 0-to-1 product as a technical leader, understanding the importance of owning outcomes, not just workflows.
• Proficient in the contemporary AI stack: LLMs, agentic frameworks, RAG, vector infrastructure, cloud deployment, and evaluation pipelines.
• Experience in client-facing or consulting engineering roles where accountability for delivery was paramount, rather than advisory.
• Strong executive presence: able to engage effectively with a Fortune 500 CTO and build trust from the very first conversation.
• You think systematically and recognize reusable solutions across client challenges before anyone else.
• Comfortable handling ambiguity in high-stakes accounts while maintaining focus on essential priorities.
