This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Act as the primary instructor and teacher of record in the IT Pathway for students.
• Deliver content according to the school’s curriculum or as designated, utilizing various teaching methodologies and technology.
• Oversee and implement a curriculum that meets Career-Technical Education standards.
• Design and carry out lesson plans that comply with all relevant state standards.
• Modify and enhance the curriculum using diverse strategies and online tools to actively engage students for both enrichment and remediation.
• Ensure alignment of materials with State CTE standards and develop course materials compatible with applicable Webxams.
• Initiate, recruit, and mentor students through an active chapter of a Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO).
• Inspire students to meet their full attendance, academic, and behavioral targets, as well as any additional goals set.
• Foster a positive school climate through effective conflict resolution, collaboration, positive reinforcement, and modeling educational leadership.
• Ensure a safe classroom environment.
• Administer discipline in a systematic manner conducive to effective learning.
• Maintain accurate student records, including grade books, progress reports, lesson plans, attendance records, and behavior/discipline documentation.
• Establish and nurture a positive relationship with students, parents, staff, school administration, and other stakeholders.
• Maintain continuous and effective communication with students, parents, staff, school administration, and other stakeholders.
• Conduct student home visits as necessary.
• Prepare and administer standardized tests as instructed.
• Identify and leverage teachable moments with students.
• Collect, maintain, and submit all student information and documentation in a professional and timely manner.
• Design classroom experiences that not only impart knowledge but also teach students how to apply their learning to solve real-world problems.
• Possess the knowledge to utilize data and delivery systems essential for creating, managing, and assessing engaging and relevant student learning experiences, supporting students both inside and outside the school.
• Uphold confidentiality regarding all student information and professional matters.
• Utilize technology and computers provided to assist students in their learning.
• Engage in ongoing professional development activities.
• Collaborate professionally with colleagues to fulfill responsibilities and duties.
• Attend and/or participate in school activities as directed by the administration, including faculty meetings (before or after school hours), open houses, commencement ceremonies, field trips, and professional learning communities.
• Exemplify tolerance, global awareness, reflective practice, and the behaviors expected from students.
• Actively support student recruitment and retention initiatives as directed by the administrator.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Must be a resident of Ohio.
• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field is required.
• A current Integrated Business or IT CTE teaching license is required in the preferred field, or the ability to obtain a CTE supplemental license.
• Strong knowledge base in Information Technology.
• Experience with research-based instructional practices for project-based learning is preferred.
• Familiarity with the Response to Intervention (RTI) process.
• Strong aptitude for gathering, analyzing, and interpreting student data to inform educational decisions.
• Prior experience in online teaching is preferred.
• Proficiency in computer applications such as Google Docs, MS Office Suite, email, and internet applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
• A genuine passion for teaching and caring for children.
• Understanding of and ability to handle confidential information effectively.
• Capable of working under pressure while efficiently prioritizing and executing tasks to consistently meet deadlines.
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse and distributed student body and peer group.
