This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Establish and enhance relationships with both new and existing crop insurance agents to maintain and expand a profitable business portfolio.

• Act as a reliable resource for agents and internal stakeholders by assisting in the interpretation of Federal Crop Insurance Program regulations and requirements.

• Collaborate with a cross-territory team to ensure that agents and customers receive effective training on business processes and tools, including web-based, mobile, and mapping platforms; participate in or present at training sessions and meetings.

• Execute established training programs for agents and colleagues and provide constructive feedback to the Training team regarding developmental needs.

• Address agent inquiries and concerns, delivering timely and professional resolutions.

• Aid in the formulation and implementation of strategic marketing plans and forecasts that align with product and growth objectives.

• Assess agent performance and outcomes, recommending or executing corrective measures as necessary, including changes to agreements or cancellations of agency appointments.

• Analyze market and competitive trends, modifying strategies as needed, which includes suggestions on products, services, educational initiatives, and innovative ideas.

• Gather and monitor necessary compliance documentation from agents and agencies.

• Foster and maintain robust relationships with internal teams and external partners (such as grower/commodity groups, trade associations, and legislators) to support retention and profitable growth.

• Other responsibilities as assigned; tasks may vary depending on business requirements.


⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in agriculture.

• Preferred 4 years of experience in agriculture and crop insurance.

• A valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record are required.

• Willingness to travel up to 80% of the time.

• High school diploma or equivalent, or a suitable combination of education and experience.

• A bachelor’s degree in agriculture or a business-related field is preferred.

• Familiarity with sales and agriculture.

• Professional understanding of farm economics, grain marketing, and risk management tools (such as futures, options, and crop insurance).

• Proficient computer skills, including a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.

• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with the ability to engage with individuals at all levels within and outside the organization.

• Demonstrated understanding of regulatory and operational processes.

• Robust decision-making, negotiation, and conflict management abilities.

• Excellent coaching and teaching capabilities.

• Strong time management and prioritization skills, with the capacity to adapt to shifting priorities.

• Capability to perform sales responsibilities in person.

• Quick to learn and promote company products and services.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

• Willingness to develop new skills, learn new techniques, and familiarize oneself with software while ensuring excellent service for the assigned customer base.
