This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Dakota.
• Assess liability by collecting and evaluating pertinent information while applying relevant procedures.
• Verify policies and coverage by reviewing applicable claims and determining if losses are insurable.
• Engage in reviews and referrals initiated by the Risk Management Agency to ensure operational integrity and quality assurance.
• Maintain confidentiality of claims information to uphold Zurich’s reputation.
• Enhance professional and technical expertise through education, monitoring industry trends, networking, and involvement in professional organizations.
• Travel within and outside the designated territory as necessary to assist with workload, participate in the CAT team, and provide remote support for claims-care-center inquiries.
• Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Beadle, Jerauld, Sanborn, Brule, Aurora, Davison, Buffalo, or Hand counties in South Dakota.
• For Crop Claims Field Adjuster I: A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, along with six months or more of agricultural experience.
• For Crop Claims Specialist: A High School Diploma or equivalent is necessary, along with four or more years of experience in the agricultural or crop insurance sector.
• Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program (CAPP) Certification must be acquired within 180 days of employment.
• Reliable personal transportation is essential.
• Willingness to travel within the assigned territory; the Specialist may be required to travel outside the territory as needed.
• Capability to walk in agricultural fields for distances up to three miles.
• Ability to climb agricultural storage bins up to 25 feet in height.
• Capacity to lift weights ranging from 25 to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required.
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and prioritization abilities are essential.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is necessary.
