This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Indonesia.
• Answering crisis hotline calls from individuals who are grieving due to suicide, engaging in self-harming behavior, experiencing suicidal thoughts, or are concerned family and friends.
• Performing risk assessments, including evaluations of lethality for suicide situations.
• Delivering a variety of evidence-based, professional crisis counseling services and personal support, utilizing de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques.
• Evaluating callers' needs and determining triage for immediate safety or emergency medical assistance, as well as referrals to suitable services such as in-person crisis intervention, case management/advocacy, individual therapy, or group services.
• Keeping accurate and detailed records of calls regarding key issues and referrals made.
• Adhering to obligations under the Data Protection Acts 1988, 2003 & 2018 (GDPR).
• Assisting in the formulation of appropriate crisis management plans to aid callers in distress.
• Making rapid, on-the-spot decisions regarding the best course of action when uncertain about how to proceed.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in helplines, whether in a paid or volunteer role.
• Completion of training in Crisis Intervention or Suicide Prevention.
• Experience dealing with high-risk clinical scenarios (individuals at risk of or affected by suicide or crisis situations).
• Possession of the necessary insurance as mandated by your country.
• Capability to maintain emotional stability in high-pressure situations, along with resilience in facing stressful interactions and high-risk cases.
