This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Answering the crisis support hotline for individuals affected by suicide, those engaging in self-harm, experiencing suicidal thoughts, and concerned family or friends.

• Performing risk assessments, including lethality evaluations for cases involving suicide.

• Delivering a variety of evidence-based professional crisis counseling services and personal support, utilizing de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques.

• Evaluating the needs of callers and determining the necessity for immediate safety measures or emergency medical assistance, as well as referring them to suitable services such as face-to-face crisis intervention, case management, advocacy services, individual therapy, or group services.

• Keeping accurate and comprehensive call reports documenting key issues and referrals made.

• Adhering to obligations under the Data Protection Acts 1988, 2003 & 2018 (GDPR).

• Assisting in the formulation of effective crisis management plans to aid callers in distress.

• Making prompt decisions on the best course of action when uncertain on how to proceed with a call.


⛳️ Requirements

• 1 to 3 years of experience in helplines, whether in a paid or voluntary role.

• Preferably possessing a Master's Degree in Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.

• Completed training in Crisis Intervention or Suicide Prevention.

• Experience dealing with high-risk clinical scenarios (those at risk of or affected by suicide or crisis situations).

• Possess the necessary insurances mandated by your country.

• Ability to maintain emotional stability in high-pressure situations, with resilience in the face of stressful interactions and high-risk cases.

• **Plus Points if you:**

• have a background in mental health or emergency services.

• can communicate effectively in more than one language.

• maintain professional indemnity insurance.
